London Mining Plc had operations in Brazil, China, Colombia, Greenland, Saudi Arabia and Sierra Leone. The company was head-quartered in central London until 2014 when its assets were taken over by Timmis Mining, then Gerald Group.
Challenges
Designing a Customised 16MW HFO Power Plant
LMC operated Marampa Iron Ore Mine near Lunsar outside of Freetown, Sierra Leone. In order to develop the site and process ore, USP&E was hired to design a 16MW HFO power station.
Solution
Efficient Power Generation with HHI Engines and RME180 Fuel
16MW HFO project with 10 x HHI 9L21/32 engines on operating on medium fuel oil (RME180). The project took 5 months to complete and was commissioned 2 months ahead of schedule, on budget.
